I thought about writing about Rochas today but since all the other blogs have already had it covered I wouldn't want to bore you with the same news kekekeh! But let me just say, it's definitely the end of an era. I was in shock for most of the day on Tuesday after I learned the news in WWD :'( Well I do hope companies like LVMH or Gucci Group - you know, companies that know how to REALLY operate a fashion house - would consider taking over Rochas. I know the clothes from Rochas are not exactly "commoner friendly" as in normal people can't really afford them. But their designs are timeless as well as wearable - clothes that women REALLY want to wear.I just thought Rochas probably wouldn't have had to close down their business if they came out with an accessory line like so many other fashion houses do. Fashion houses like Chanel and Dior wouldn't have possibly survived if it weren't for their extensive accessory line. I just don't think P&G was trying hard enough to make this work. Well, after all, they specialize in consumer goods, not couture! Having said that, I don't think Oliver Theyskens will be unemployed for long... Heard there are talks between him and Oscar de la Renta already. Gosh that'll be so awesome if things work out between the two! Well, nonetheless I'll miss Rochas very, very much *sob sob*
Anyways, back to DWP. Today I'd like to present you some of my favorite looks from The Devil Wears Prada (okay I hear you say "GET OVER IT!" ha ha!). I've always adored Anne Hathaway and I think she totally pulls off the whole high-fashion-chic look with a touch of regal class!

i have yet to still watch the movie......
Obsess with DWP as long as you want. We all are.... :D
me too. i have to watch the movie.
i agree with your assessment re: rochas. if they had expanded into accessories then there is the possibiity that they would do better. P&G is a public company, however, and their shareholders don't have the patience to wait for results.
I enjoyed watching DWP and all the fashion, great outfits!
I'm going to HAVE to buy look-a-likes of all these outfits or I may just explode! Evene if the movie isn't any good, the fashion sure is!
am totally in love with the chanel look on anne hathaway. she just has that sort of well-bred air to her to pull these clothes off. love that hair too! :)
omg i havent watched the movie yet (not out til 28 september... i know!!!!) and im obsessed already :S
I was actually surprised to find how different the book is from the movie. If i was ms. Weisberger, i would be actually be quite offended to see how they stole her catchy title and ran a different way. I also think that Anne Hathaway didnt match the character, but Meryl Streep was the perfect match! She was witty and terrifying..she almost made me hate her..ALMOST! on the other hand, R.I.P. Rochas...(for now)
mmm yummy outfits. i need all the jewellery
Wow thx for the outfit breakdown! I really appreciate that now I can see! I do remember her wearing a Louis Vuitton dress when they were in Paris. It was the dress that Erin Wasson walked in during the Louis Vuitton FW 2004 show. Very chic! Im sorry that the movie doesnt come out until september! :( Its so unfair everyone else in the world has to wait. My Mexican friend couldnt stand the wait, so he downloaded a bootleg copy. tehhehe im not advising anything, just letting you know..... :P
well i was thinking about buying a pirated copy in chinatown or something... so you know im desparate mwahaha! i dont even think they have the pirated copy out yet since the movie isnt showing in most of the asian countries until who knows when! you lucky, lucky thing!!! =P
btw, you have like, really good memory - you even remember who modeled the outfit down the catwalk! wow im so impressed ;P
i've seen the movie but i don't quite recall seeing some outfits that you posted (take me seriousyl journalist look, park ave. princess, ladies who lunch). Still fab though! hey, could you recommend me great skin care products for the winter (especially moisturisers and facial wash)? I'll be in Sydney next month.
p.s. I watched it through a pirated copy as well. Couldn't wait for the end of August so... hahaha
colon: oh so the pirated DWP copies are out already? hmm... im so tempted mwahaha! :P
okay re: great skincare. it all depends on what type of skin you have. well for me i have combo skin and is kinda acne prone (hormonal) so im a devoted follower of the "clear skin regime" (created by a 33-year-old Pennsylvanian guy called Daniel W. Kern) which consists of a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide topical gel and Shiseido Pureness oil-free matifying moisturizer (what a fab product - not drying at all and not irritating! no funky smell as well :P). and i wash my face with Shiseido Pureness Foaming Cleansing Fluid. i personally believe that the Shiseido Pureness range is a god-sent. these 2 products have received enormous rave on makeupalley.com. Mario Badescu is my another favorite. although they only stock a very very small range of their skincare in sydney (i have mine shipped from overseas). as im not sure which skin type you have, i can only tell you my experience... well if you have a lot of time in hand, you should totally go to makeupalley.com and do a search in their "MUA top picks" by categories/brands. i found most of my holy grail products through this website and im just so happy i've found it so i think i shouldnt keep it to myself (though you may have already known about this site since its been around for like ages hehehe!)
i hope this helps! :)
