I have become a HUGE, HUUUUGE fan of ballet flats as of late... I have been a heels girl (still am hehe) all my life but I'm determined to incorporate this timeless classic into my weekend wardrobe. I'm really tiny so I know I'm never gonna look like Mischa Barton or Gisele Bündchen in ballet flats *sob* but it's okay... cos' I just don't feel right wearing high heels on the weekends (and I never believe in mules or wedges) - high heels and weekend just don't mix in my opinion!Anyways, if you too are looking for THE pair of ballet flats, look no further than French Sole! This brand has been around for ages but there aren't many people here in Australia who've heard about it. French Sole has more than 10,000 ballet flats in 500 styles - from glittery to zebra-striped to basic black - all designed by Jane Winkworth. The "Simple" flats were a Princess Diana favorite. My personal favorite is the "Lowcut" ones which show a bit of your toe cleavage - it adds a modern twist to the classic "Simple" don't you think? =)
They are not available in Australia yet (damn) so the next best thing is to order them online... although many styles are completely sold out in my size (damn). But hey, maybe you'll have better luck than I do so good luck! :D
Here they are my favorites - they are the combination of Lowcuts and Simples, although they look pretty much the same in the photos hehehe!
These nude color flats are the number 1 flats I wanna get! I just can't get enough of nude shades... These ones are timeless and they just remind me of real ballerinas :)
I love the color contrasts of these shoes. White color with a dark trim and ribbon - you'll totally stand out :D
Oh how about these flats! Metallics are huge now - and I just adore the light reflective surface! It will brighten up any dull-looking outfits :D
Oh and these!!! Look at these!! The zebra-print ones are made of pony hair and that has totally upped the chicness level! And how about that quilted ballet flats on right? Don't they just remind you of the classic Chanel? These two are my favorite too actually hehehe (greedy greedy) :P

Hi,
Just thought I would let you know that French Sole are available at a new shop in Mosman (near mosman junction) it is called chic boutique or something like that. The prices are around $240. I think it just opened as I saw it for the first time yesterday.
HTH!
really really? wow thanks for letting us know!!! damn i dont live around the area :( but hey for the rest of the sydneysiders who live around mosman you should definitely go check it out! $240 is a pretty good price considering they are the only shop in sydney that stocks the brand. hey so do they stock any other hard-to-get international brands? and do they stock a lot of styles from french sole?
Hi, I've been following your blog for a while and I absolutely love it!
Would you mind writing about Chanel 2.55? Eg. what colours does it come in, the different editions etc. Your blog is my fashion guide. Thanks!
those are so adorable. i would love to buy a pair.
Hey,
The only designers they had are michel perry and bruno magli. I didn't see any styles that I liked of these designers unfortunately, hopefully they will get more stock and different designers. They did have quite a few french sole ballet flat styles.
Great reference. I'll definitely have a look around & see if I can't find a pair of fun flats. Thanks!
